What’s the Best Wireless CarPlay Option for 2025?

I don’t have any recommendations but wireless CarPlay drains battery quickly so I stopped using it. I now stick to the wired one because it has better connectivity and charges my phone.

I’ve been using this for 2 years. It starts automatically when the car starts, and there are no connectivity issues. It works with both Android and iOS. You can find it on AliExpress for C$90.63. Here’s the link: AliExpress.

If your trips are short, like under 15 minutes, CarPlay works because it won’t drain your battery much. But for my daily commutes, which are 30 minutes or more, it’s not worth it. I bought a small USB cable from AliExpress and always keep it plugged in my car. It’s short, so it doesn’t hang around.

You could try using a wireless charger.

That causes my phone to overheat. It might be an issue with my phone though.

I used an OEM wireless charger in a 2024 Acura TLX, and it worked fine for the two weeks I had it.

If you have a MagSafe-compatible iPhone and a USB Type-C outlet in your car, I recommend getting one of the OEM Apple wireless charging pucks. It works better than the built-in wireless pad in my car. It keeps my phone charged while running wireless CarPlay and doesn’t overheat since your phone controls the charge based on its temperature.

I had the same problem.

I use this small one. It’s invisible and works well.

CarlinKit 5.0 in my 2017 Si is amazing. I highly recommend it.

I second this recommendation.

Who needs Apple CarPlay when you can just hear the engine spooling through the air vents? That’s the real sound to enjoy.

Motorola has an adapter that’s available at Best Buy.

I have the U2 AIR Pro Wireless CarPlay Adapter from OTTOCAST. It’s fast and reliable, most of the time. Sometimes it acts weird. Even the first-party CarPlay isn’t as responsive as the wired version, so I usually end up using wired anyway.

I love those rims!

Can I use a flash drive with music in the USB port?

Yes, you can.

Carlinkit works well 80% of the time. There are a few glitches, but for the price, it’s amazing.

If it’s not built into your car, the delay isn’t worth it compared to wired. You will notice the lag, especially with music streaming apps.
