Anyone know what this is?

Is everything working with your front passenger door? That looks like it could be the plug for the door harness if I remember correctly.

This seems more likely than the other suggestions about being an OBD2 connector on the passenger side. I was checking to see if it could plug into the blower motor, but it doesn’t look like that from the picture.

None of my doors lock, and the unlock buttons don’t work. The trunk won’t pop without the manual release either. I haven’t tried rolling the windows down from the individual doors yet, but I can still roll them down from the driver’s door. Could this be causing the issues?

@Leighton
Did you check your fuses? I doubt this plug is the issue.

I have checked, but I ordered new ones anyway. I’m just going to replace all of them.

You’re replacing all the fuses? Why though? Just check the diagram on the fuse box and replace the one for the door locks. You can rule out most of the fuses. It’s not even guaranteed the fuse is the problem. Maybe a squirrel chewed through a wire.

@Zayden
Haha, when I say ‘all of them,’ I mean just the ones related to the things that aren’t working. I’ve checked the wiring here, and no chewing involved.

I’m not sure, but is everything working as expected?

No, I’m getting a bunch of communication errors, so I wonder if this is the issue.

Just throwing this out there, but in the 9th gen, the Bluetooth module is under the dash above the glovebox. It might be around the same area you’re looking at. If you’re getting connection errors, this could be the problem. :man_shrugging:

@Eliezer
By Bluetooth module, do you mean the car’s ability to connect to Bluetooth? My car connects fine, but I’m getting OBD communication error codes.

Yep, Bluetooth. That connector can only reach so far. If you haven’t already, try finding a wiring diagram for your OBD2 port. Good luck with that mess. :sweat_smile:

@Eliezer
I did find another random blue connector, but it’s taped over something, so I don’t think it’s the one. But this piece looks like it used to be connected to something. I just got my car back from the dealership, and I’ve found multiple things unplugged. It’s driving me crazy! The next Honda dealership is over an hour away.

@Leighton
So what’s the main issue? Aside from the communication problems? It’s pretty normal for cars to have dead connections these days. Often, they’re just for features your car doesn’t have. Is there something major not working?

@Eliezer
I’m getting errors for multiple communication issues between modules. The only things not working are the door locks and trunk release, both with the car and key fob.

I see this often with Toyota cars, but most wire harnesses are the same. Even high-end models have extra plugs for features. If your car doesn’t have those features, sometimes you’ll end up with a situation like this.

@Ramiro
I thought the same thing, but my car has all the features, so I’m not sure what’s going on.

The wires in the harness are twisted in pairs. This looks like a CAN terminal block, which connects multiple ECUs to a CAN network. I can’t tell from the picture, but are the pins exposed on the blue plastic side opposite the harness? It shouldn’t be hanging loose like that. Maybe it slid off its clip or was removed during a repair and not reinstalled properly.

@Blair
All the error codes I’m getting are related to the CAN network… Grrrr! I went out and took a few more pictures, but I don’t know how to add them to the comment. I’m also looking for a wiring diagram to try and track this down.
