Honestly, they don’t need any tips. If your CRV is parked outside, it’s an easy target. Honda keys can be cloned super fast, and Honda hasn’t done anything to make it harder for thieves.

Push-start keys are no better. With something like a Flipper Zero, anyone close enough can clone the signal and take the car.

Not all brands are this easy though. You can’t clone Audi or VW keys without special software like Rosstech or VAGcom. Honda should invest in this kind of tech to protect their cars, but they haven’t, so thieves keep going after them.

CRVs are one of the most stolen cars in Canada. Thieves can clone the keys in minutes and drive off. If you’re in Ontario, the insurance rates for CRVs are insane because of how often they’re targeted.
