Which Honda battery is better than Max Ever Start?

People say those red top batteries are the best but honestly unless you live in Minnesota it doesn’t really matter much. It’s just a battery, and if you have the right size, it’s not going to cause any issues unless you have a huge stereo system or something that needs a lot of power.

@Amal
Haha, my Accord I just got in Minnesota had that red battery. I want to add some aftermarket speakers and subs later so I’ll just get a small lithium battery and maybe a better alternator down the road. That’s so funny you mentioned this.

I always go for the cheapest battery with the best warranty. Usually, I check Walmart, AutoZone, or O’Reilly’s. I hear Costco has cheap batteries with good warranties too. It’s just whoever is cheaper at the moment. I just bought a Honda brand battery from my local dealership for $136 with a 100-month warranty. It’s a three-year no questions asked replacement, and then you get some money back as the months go by, like 80% then 60% and so on. Normally, I stay away from Honda dealerships for batteries, but this was the cheapest option I found this time. The battery I just replaced was an AutoZone Duralast Gold, and it lasted four years. I paid $160 for it in 2020, but now that same battery is $220 minus a $20 core charge.

@Zayne
I got the Duralast Gold from AutoZone because of the great warranty, but it didn’t even last two years. Then I found out they cancelled the warranty on it, and AutoZone stopped carrying it. So I was stuck with a dead battery that didn’t even reach the end of the original warranty. Ended up going to Walmart.

@Zayne
Costco sells Interstate batteries at Costco price with their warranty.

I use a little Odyssey I found on Marketplace for $40 two years ago.

Odysseys are dry cell.

Most likely an acid and water battery.

What? No, lmao.

Costco sells Interstate batteries for pretty good prices. It’s worth checking out. I’d avoid the AutoZone Duralast batteries; it’s been a while, but they always seemed to die faster for me, at least the cheaper ones.

@Nicol
I also like the Interstate brand.

Do you know the model type? I see a list of them on Google now.

Dang… it doesn’t have one for a 2010 Honda CR-V.

Check for an M-51R or MTX-51R. Those are the part numbers we carry for your CR-V.

140 for three years. Not complaining.

I’ve had the same red top Optima for seven years. It doesn’t get super cold here, but it does get pretty hot at 100 degrees.
