I clean my car every 3 or 4 days, but I’m looking for something extra to keep it smelling fresh. What do you all recommend?
I just make sure to keep trash out and vacuum every 2-3 weeks. I used to use Febreeze and Yankee Doodle vent clips, but now I just stick to a natural car smell. Plus, I don’t have to worry about whatever chemicals are in those things.
@Lael
I get it. I vacuum weekly too since I like keeping my car as clean as possible.
Bio-Fresh Bars are the best. Just get a bar baggie to store them. They last about 60 days, and you can find them at the House of Rags.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll look into those.
Eikosha A9 Squash AS Cartridge Air Spencer Freshener CS-X3. Here’s the link: Amazon.com: Eikosha A9 Squash AS Cartridge AIR SPENCER Freshener CS-X3 CSX3 : Automotive.
It’s a bit JDM, but they’re really good and last quite a while. Just pop one under a seat or in your cupholder.
@Hollis
Squash is such a great scent .
@Hollis
Good to know! I’ll definitely check it out.
Those hanging cork things with liquid inside are the worst. They melted the radio fascia on my old Jazz and even left marks on my HRV. No way I’m risking that in my Crosstar.

How do you like the HRV? I’ve been thinking about getting one since they discontinued the Fit here in the US. Does it still have the magic seats? What’s the mpg like?
@Vanya
I like it and would recommend it if you can’t get a Fit. I think the US version looks slightly different from the ones here in the UK, but it’s essentially a bigger, beefier Fit. Mpg isn’t as good as my Crosstar, but it works well as a family car. The magic seats are still there! We’ve had HRVs for years, and they’ve been super reliable.
I prefer using charcoal bags. They absorb odors naturally without adding a scent.

Old school but effective .
I recently got my sister’s old Fit. While cleaning it, I’ve started burning incense and letting it hotbox the car for a bit. Even just a minute or two works wonders.

Does the scent last for a while?
@Zane
Yeah, it lasts about a week. I’ve only burned half a stick so far.

What do you do to clean your car every 3-4 days? Just pick up trash or more than that?

On weekends, I take out the seats and use my shop vac for a deep clean. During the week, I use a small handheld vac to keep it tidy. I try to stay on top of it so it doesn’t become a huge job later.
@Zane
Sounds like a solid routine .
