I’m looking into buying a used car for the first time and I’ve heard the Fit is a good option. I want to make sure I’m not paying too much, especially with any market changes. What kind of price and mileage can I expect for a 2016-2020 Fit in this price range?
Damn that’s more than I paid for mine brand new

Covid prices really messed up the used car market, these should be the golden years to get low maintenance cars, but the prices are still crazy. I think a second gen Fit in good condition should be $6500 MAX, but I’m not seeing those prices near me.
@Jameson
Seriously.
I’m out of the Fit life because my “friend” totaled mine right before COVID hit. But it was a '15 EX-L with 46k miles, I paid $12.5k for it in 2017. The best I can find now is a 2016 EX with 71k miles for $14.5k. I mean, it does have a volume knob…

My wife bought at the peak of crazy COVID prices, she got a 2019 Sport automatic with about 9k miles for $19k.
You’ll probably hear this a lot, but it’s irrelevant in the current market. You should be able to find one with under 50k miles and in great condition for the price you’re looking at. Be picky, and try to find one with a manual transmission if possible.
@Uma
I agree with this perspective. It’s just the way the market is now, unfortunately.
Mileage for that price range and model year should be in the 10k-20k range.
I got my '18 LX from a dealer for just under $17k. It had 40,000 miles on it. Was it the best deal I could find? No. Do I regret it? No.

I got a 2019 LX with 49k miles for $9999.
@Oak
Was that a private sale? Private sales tend to be cheaper than dealers.

Yes, OP wasn’t talking about buying from a dealer. I don’t know why people wouldn’t buy from a private seller.
@Oak
I feel like if you’re looking at cars in the $17-19k range, those are dealer prices.

Yeah, you can get dealer cars for much less than that.
For reference, I paid $15k for a 2017 with 60k miles less than a year ago. I live in the DFW area in Texas.

It depends on your location. In Canada, a Fit in the $19k range would be around 20k kilometers/miles. If you can even find one that new.

I live in the US, in the south.

I saw a 2012 Sport automatic with 80,000 miles and a clean, one-owner Carfax listed for $10k a month ago, within driving distance of “The South”.
$17k-$19k is the MSRP of these cars when they were brand new, lol. You’ll have a hard time finding one with super low mileage for that price.
