I have the money for it and I want a newer car with minimal maintenance. Should I go for it?
A ten-year-old, base model Civic for $16,000. What’s going on with prices these days?

Just so you know, I bought the same car in 2019 with 13k miles for $16,000, and it was a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO).
@Hayes
I paid $18k for my 17 Si with 47k miles back in early 2021. Used car prices are getting ridiculous.
@Hayes
I just bought a 2019 Civic with 15k miles for $14.8k. It feels like a steal compared to these prices.

My first car was a 10-year-old Accord back in 2017-18, and I paid $3k for it. This car’s price is crazy.
@Kai
A 2007 Accord for $3k now would be a great deal, but you’re right, this Civic is way overpriced.

I still have my 2007 Accord. It’s been with me its whole life and has 260,000 miles on it. Still going strong.

No kidding! I got my EX for less than that with fewer miles back in 2018. These prices are insane.

For the OP’s reference, I got my 2016 LX with 70k miles for $10k. The only big difference is that mine was a stick shift.
That’s almost how much it cost new. Crazy .

Yeah, but at least you save on delivery fees! /s

My sister just bought a 2019 for $20k with 20k miles. I was shocked, especially since it’s a base model, but I’m happy for her.
I bought my 2019 EX buyout two years ago for $1200 more than this, and it had 13k miles. You should offer $12k at most for this car.

Used car prices right now are just crazy.
That’s the price for an Si. Stay away from it.

I wish I could get an Si for that price. Around here, they’re asking $19k+ for ones with over 120,000 miles.

Really? I have a 2018 white Si with 40k miles, and I was offered $18k for it.
@Leif
Prices here in Michigan are outrageous. I’ve been trying to find a car under $20k with fewer than 100k miles, and it’s been impossible.

If someone offered me $18k for my 2017 Si coupe with 82k miles, I’d take it.
