Should I buy a 1999 Honda Accord?

Hello!

I’m currently in need of my first car as I don’t have one yet. I’ve been searching for a good used car, but the current market conditions are unfavorable for buyers. Luckily, my parents’ friends have offered to sell me their 1999 Honda Accord for $1000. It has 135,000 miles on it and has been well-maintained, although it does require some repairs, with the AC being the major issue.

The plan would be to use this car for approximately 2 years until the used car market improves. My main concern is its reliability. It won’t just be for commuting—I need to feel confident that it won’t break down if I have to drive long distances or encounter hills, especially since I’m moving to California in the summer.

grasp it, man. You are familiar with the former owners; it is quite dependable; in the event of an AC malfunction, simply open the windows and pray you don’t burn. Most likely just need to repair the condenser or refill it.

My automobile hasn’t had air conditioning in five years, yet I lived in the deep south for the majority of that time. Without AC, you’ll be alright.

Sure, the 1999 Accord is a reliable car, but it is getting older. Parts might be harder to find and repairs could be more frequent.

Hi, Consider its condition, maintenance history, and price. Older cars may require more upkeep but can be reliable and affordable options.
