Key for a lug nut? I never received a key when I purchased the car; how can I obtain one?

If you did not receive a key with your car, there are two primary methods to get one:

Examine the car’s paperwork: Occasionally, the spare tire tools or owner’s manual are kept in storage alongside the lug nut key. Search for any secret compartments under the seats, under the glove box, or under the carpeting in the trunk (particularly the area under the spare tire).

Speak with your vehicle’s manufacturer: You can get in touch with the manufacturer or the dealership if you are unable to locate the key anywhere inside the vehicle. Using your vehicle identifying number (VIN), they might be able to issue you a replacement key. It is possible that the original package for the locking lug nut key contained a code that could be used to speed up the replacement procedure.

Any competent shop will remove them and install a conventional lug nut for you.
