Is this the battery upgrade everyone's talking about?

I did this on my 2013 when the battery died. The bigger battery is so much cheaper. I removed the plastic holder and used a block of wood to raise it up a bit. It’s the best QOL hack for a fit.

Is this for a manual or auto? I did it on my manual, but I had to trim the air box a little. It was still pushing into the air box. My mechanic switched it out for an OEM size with higher CCA. He said engine vibration can mess up the battery on manuals. Costco took the battery back without any hassle.

It’s a manual. I’ll check out some options to isolate the battery more based on what others have suggested.

Darn, I could use one for my manual. Any recommendations for a higher CCA OEM size?

The bigger battery just doesn’t fit. Not sure how others are getting them in. The lower right corner won’t fit because of the headlight housing. Maybe some models have different internal measurements? I have a 2011 base trim manual. I also had to remove the original tray and realign the wiring. It wasn’t ideal, but I made it work for a bit. I replaced it with an OEM battery with 380 CCA.

I should probably start looking into a new bigger battery. My current one is OEM and really old, but it still works fine unless it’s really cold.

I upgraded the battery this weekend too! Just trimmed the old tray a bit to fit the new one in my 2020 Sport. With the cold weather, it starts right up without hesitation. Must be the new battery because the car feels peppier now.

What year do you have? I tried putting in the 51R on my 2010 Sport, but even after two hours of work and trimming the tray, it wouldn’t fit because of the air intake box.

I have a 2009. I removed the plastic battery box entirely.

@Payton
I eventually did that too and got the battery to fit. I just had to keep working on it.
