Is buying back from insurance worth it?

@Sawyer
I can find other 9th gen Accord sedans for only a few grand more than insurance is giving me, but they’re all silver, white, or beige.

In my opinion, color is secondary to a good, running vehicle. If it’s only a few thousand difference, I’d pull the trigger. You can always wrap it later if you hate the color.

@Sawyer
I understand why since they’re not making TDIs anymore, not to mention they weren’t as common in the US

I understand why you’d feel sentimental, but it’s probably time to move on

  1. It has a lot of sentimental value to me
  2. I’m having a tough time finding a clean 2013-15 LX or Sport in blue for a reasonable price

@Wade
This here! What are they giving you?

That seems a bit low. I was on CarGurus a couple of days ago trying to find a comp to my 2014 because I feared that the CVT had blown up. Look at your local listings before you accept

You can appeal that amount. A friend of mine got a lawyer to write a letter.

Just get a new one with the check they give you

No, especially with the fact that all that has been sitting open and exposed to the weather.

If you were in a dry climate, I would say maybe.

Even if you could, would they even insure it?
