I'm thinking about buying a 1995 Accord EX 4D. Any advice?

141,592 miles, automatic transmission. The car looks clean inside and outside. I don’t want to spend more than $3,000. I know automatic transmissions don’t last as long as manual ones. I work as a vehicle inspector, so I’ll check it carefully when I see it. Are there any specific issues I should look for? Thanks for your help!

Car isn’t worth more than 2-2.2k. Even in this market.

The dollar isn’t worth what it was even a few of years ago. It’s not a market thing, it’s an inflation thing.

Take it for a test drive to see how it runs. If it was well taken care of, you’ll know pretty quickly.

If the engine runs well and the transmission shifts smoothly, the price is fair. Since it’s an EX model, it has a stronger engine.

Check the suspension and frame for any major rust. Other than that, you could likely buy it for a bit less than $3,000.

Check the top of the shock tower, the rear quarters, and the subframe for rust too.

I would change all the fluids.

As long as it doesn’t burn too much oil, you should be fine for another 100,000 miles.

Make sure the VIN matches the engine and body panels. A mechanic advised me to check for any accidents.

$4,000 is too much, but in my opinion, the CD5 Accord is one of the best. I have a 1997 automatic with 230,000 miles, and it’s never had any issues. I also have a 1996 F20B swap project that has been trouble-free.

If this sells for $4,000, then Carvana is a scam. They offered me $3,750 for my 2013 Jetta in good condition with 125,000 miles. I was just curious, but that was a really low offer!

I wouldn’t pay more than $2,000 unless it was really well taken care of and had all the maintenance records.

Offer him $2,500. If he thinks that’s too low, he’s out of touch, and that car won’t sell. I bought my running CB7 for $650.
