I overfilled my transmission by 2mm... Is that a big mistake? Any advice?

I accidentally overfilled my transmission by about 2mm above the top dot. I was wondering how serious this is and if anyone has any recommendations on what to do next. Should I drain a bit out or leave it as is?

It’ll be fine. No worries.

Edit: disregard, I missed the part where this is a transmission not a motor because I apparently cannot read. I have let Levar Burton down on this dark day.

I wouldn’t worry about it. We overfill our CRX race car by at least a quart and it doesn’t cause any issues.

@Cain
No starvation for you. I do the same thing with my offroader.

Oh wow, I never thought about that. You all get the motor into all kinds of crazy angles, huh?

The CRX is just so light that you drop it a couple inches, put sticky tires on it, and you’re suddenly pulling major Gs in long corners and the motor oil plays hide-and-seek. That’s a lesson we learned the hard way.

@Cain
I put some 205 width Neogens on a first gen CRX that was otherwise bone stock and that thing would climb walls, it was bonkers how hard it would corner

Neogens are so underrated. Best budget tire I’ve ever ran. I used them as steers on my drift car, and they worked amazing all the way to the wear Bars.

Loved 205 neos on my fit Can’t recommend them enough!

@Zeke
I wanted to go sticky on my Fit but do almost all long highway drives with it, I bet it’s a blast

@Cain
You race an automatic CRX?

Whew, on the plus side, poor reading comprehension >>> racing an auto CRX :slight_smile:

@Quinton
lol, true. That sounds awful.

Car is totaled

Looks good from my house

Yeah I forgot to add sorry, it’s a 2006 Accord 4 cylinders.

Ship it, you’re good.

Thanks for the replies guys.

No worries

I recently put new transmission fluid. My Honda takes 3qt, I drained out 4qtz It’s not a huge deal, but do fill it up properly next time!
