How much does an oil change cost at Honda?

The local dealership wants to charge $189 (before tax) for the basic “A1” maintenance on my 2022 Accord hybrid.

I turned around after leaving their office. The guy I’ve trusted with my Civic for 5 years charges less than half that price.

The dealers in my area often have oil change specials. I have a maintenance package, but I still get marketing postcards all the time. They usually offer a $69.99 oil change special. If I add a tire rotation, it’s still under $100.

That’s about the same deal I’ll get with my local mechanic.

Thanks for keeping me grounded!

Seconding this as well. Usually there are dealer coupons or specials happening. More often than not my oil changes would be cheaper at the dealers vs the regular auto places like obriens or whatever.

No kidding. I’ve never seen the dealers offer a good deal.

I have to admit, I was surprised when I found out. I bought our last Honda two weeks before we moved here and started going to the dealer since I didn’t know any local shops. My wife took it to another place, and it was much more expensive than the dealer, so we went back to the dealer.

My employer paid $129 for an oil change only (no tire rotation) on my work truck (6 quarts of 0W20 synthetic) at a quick-lube place. But I can take my personal truck (7 quarts of 0W20) to the Nissan dealer and get an oil change with a tire rotation for $75 because they always have a deal.

If someone had told me years ago that dealerships would be cheaper, I would have laughed at them.

It’s about $30-35 for high-quality full synthetic oil, like Mobil or Valvoline, and around $10 for the filter.

2009 accord coupe exl v6 is $55 for oil at Rick Hendrick in Charleston SC.

Where are you located. My dealership in Toronto charges $115 for an A1 on my Civic and my CRV

Is it maybe different for a Hybrid?

Los Angeles, which probably explains the price.

I get coupons from Honda in the mail, usually priced from $29.99 to $49.99 for my 1.5t. Comes in about 3 times a year.

It costs $28 for Mobil 1 Extended Protection oil and $5 for a Bosch 3323 filter if you do it yourself.

$40. I do it myself. Takes about 30 min or so. I know it’s done right and good oil is actually used.
