Hello…I’m reaching out for advice on a serious issue. I’m a 23-year-old female and I own a newer Honda Civic. Unfortunately, my family has been extremely controlling and abusive. They somehow managed to put a tracking device on my car, and they also have a second key which they refuse to return.
I’m planning to move out within the month, and their erratic and physically abusive behavior is making me very concerned about my safety. I don’t want them to know where my new home is, and I need to find a way to block or disable any tracking they might have on my vehicle.
Howdy people,
metal canisters or aluminum foil are examples of temporary solutions that would not offer long-term protection.
You may want to think about taking legal action or reporting it to the police if you think someone is tracking you without your permission.
I need to find a mechanic who can locate the tracker. Why not keep it enabled, but simply conceal it on a city bus, giving your family the impression that you’re always on the go? I need to get my keys re-programmed.
Hello Charles, Immediate Steps:
Change Your Locks: Install new locks on your car to prevent unauthorized access.
Disable the Tracking Device: If you find the device, remove it cautiously. Seek professional help if unsure.
Limit Communication: Reduce contact with your family to prevent them from tracking your location.
Consider a New Phone Number: Change your number to protect your privacy.
Document Everything: Record all incidents, including dates and details of your family’s behavior, for potential legal use.
Long-Term Strategies:
Develop a Safety Plan: Plan your move, including accommodation, transportation, and emergency contacts.
Seek Support: Lean on friends, family, or support groups for help.
Legal Advice: Consult an attorney to understand your rights and options.
Consider a Safety App: Use apps that offer emergency alerts and location sharing with trusted contacts.
Bring your automobile to the dealership and let them know someone has lost your key. Your key will only function if they reprogram it to read “All Keys Lost.”
Drive your car right now to the police station. Installing a tracking device on someone else’s car is prohibited. You will have a report even if it’s one of those situations when there’s really nothing you can do. You must begin the paperwork.
Hi.
To stop someone from tracking your car, check for hidden devices, disable or remove them, use GPS jammers or Faraday bags, park in enclosed spaces, consult a professional, notify authorities, and upgrade your car’s security.
