How can I protect the paint and bodywork on my Honda S2000?

Looking for tips on how to keep my Honda S2000’s paint in good shape. Any suggestions on protection methods?

By parking it in a garage

You’re thinking too much into it

No he’s got a point, but that’s a luxury that most people don’t have access to. A lot of hypercars and mostly oldschool hyper expensive cars sit in humidity control

@Sky
How about an S2000 like the person who posted this is suggesting?

Depending how much they care about it :man_shrugging: No but to be honest I’d just fully detail the car, get it in a nice glass coat and park it in a garage. I do know 1 person who has a very low mileage S2K in a climate-controlled garage together with some other cars he never really drives. That’s more of a collector’s item than an actual car that’s being driven. Somewhat sad tbh.

Unnecessary for paint. Just shade from UV rays and the elements is enough.

Thick paint protection film, garage, or a car cover when parked. Be warned a good PPF job isn’t cheap, you’ll need at least to clay bar the paint for imperfections but most likely a color correction will need to be done too.

@Bryce
No car cover, that’s how you scratch your paint.

PPF, just like any other car

You can put some sort of ceramic coating on a car

PPF and add a ceramic coating to the rest of the car

Paint correction, ceramic, PPF, and garage

If it were my car, I’d just wax it regularly and store it over winter. PPF cost is very high and not worth it for an S2000 imo (unless it’s a true collector-grade example). If I were to PPF, it’d maybe be just the front bumper, hood, and fenders. Definitely would do the windshield since those must be fairly difficult to replace properly.

Armed guards for mine.

Garage and never drive it anywhere

It’s not a mythical unicorn, the same way any other car’s paint is protected. There’s dozens of time-proven solutions. Everyone has a preference.

You ever suspect that Honda could have made so much extra $$$ by selling a factory fastback hardtop?

Generally the same way as any other car
