Honda accord 10 speed transmission

What’s the performance like with the 10-speed transmission in the 2022 Accord 2.0L? I’m considering the 2.0L Accord but concerned about the performance of the 10-speed transmission. Has anyone experienced any jerkiness or issues? Can this transmission be relied upon for durability?

The 10-speed transmission in the 2.0L Accord is generally considered reliable, but some owners have reported issues with jerkiness.
It’s a good idea to test drive the vehicle and see how the transmission feels to you.

I have a 2020 2.0 with a 10-speed transmission and 30,000 miles on it. I bought this car to replace my 2017 CVT Accord, which had 60,000 miles. I absolutely love my 2.0 – the 10-speed shifts so much more smoothly.

It’s too expensive… Why buy something new that might not be reliable?

It’s fantastic. It’s the best car under $50K. The only close competitor is the Golf R DSG, which costs $10K more.

The 10-speed automatic transmission paired with the 2.0L engine in the 2022 Honda Accord generally receives positive feedback for its performance. Many drivers appreciate its smooth shifting and responsive nature, which enhances both acceleration and fuel efficiency. As with any transmission, there can occasionally be reports of minor jerkiness or hesitation during shifts, but these issues are typically rare and might be specific to certain driving conditions or individual experiences. In terms of reliability and durability, Honda’s 10-speed transmission has shown good track record in recent years across various models, including the Accord. Regular maintenance as recommended by Honda will help ensure longevity and performance consistency. Overall, the 10-speed transmission in the 2022 Accord 2.0L is considered a solid choice for those seeking a blend of performance and efficiency without significant concerns about reliability.

Honda transmissions can be clunky. I suggest trying K-Tuner. Even my 9th gen 6-speed automatic sometimes clunks or slams randomly when shifting from 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th while accelerating and then easing off the gas pedal.

These transmissions seem to prefer accelerating quickly. Both the 10-speed automatic (10AT) and 6-speed automatic (6AT) shift smoother when you apply at least 25% throttle.

The 2023 Accord LX (RIP '22 2.0T) features a fantastic engine and transmission combination. Occasionally, the 2nd or 3rd gears may have minor hiccups, but nothing worrisome. Earlier today, I was cruising at 95 mph, around 2600 RPMs, and still managed over 28 MPG on my way to a family Thanksgiving gathering. When you want to push it, the acceleration and torque are impressive. Overall, I would strongly recommend it.
