Hey guys, I have to get a car for college. Nothing much needs to be spent by me. With 104k on it, I discovered a 1999 Accord for 4.5k. It seems to be in good shape. Does it suffice to simply get me from point A to point B going forward without any significant problems? A 2007 Mazda 3i touring with 114k miles was another vehicle I discovered.
Thank you for viewing my post.

That is a really low mileage. Did they perform the timing belt replacement required for the 100k mile maintenance? Although the expense is somewhat higher, it should still be done. Although it is an old car, it is generally dependable. Inspect the hoses for damage and leaks of oil. Is the coupe automatic? Those in particular experienced transmission problems, although everyone I know who did had a lot of mileage left in them.
Both the 1999 Accord and 2007 Mazda 3i are good options for reliable transportation. The Accord is cheaper, but older, so consider maintenance costs. The Mazda has lower mileage but might be pricier. Get a mechanic’s inspection before you buy
