Thinking about getting a home charger for the garage. Found this one and was wondering what you all think. If you don’t like it, could you suggest something else? I’m leaning towards the $750 credit (option 3).
I just bought this and will install it next week. Should work well, in my opinion.

Thanks! Does this charger qualify for any rebates?

You should check with your state.
We had an electrician run a 60A circuit, with two junction boxes. I really like the Tesla UWC charger. It works great with both our Prologue and Tesla. The charger communicates well with the vehicles, though you need to allow access to all vehicles. It does take a few seconds to connect with the Prologue, but after that, there are no issues. The 48A usable for charging is nice, or you can do a 50A circuit for 40A usable, which is still good. This charger is very versatile and Tesla offers great support.

Does yours show a red light before turning green?

Yes, the Tesla UWC first tries to connect with a Tesla, then switches to a different method for non-Tesla vehicles. This is normal and consistent. It’s better if you set it to ‘all vehicles’ instead of just ‘Tesla.’
@Terry
If you listen closely, you’ll hear the relay click when it opens. Just a second after that, the Prologue switches from red to green.

In the Tesla app, under ‘My Home,’ where my UWC shows up, go to Settings, then Vehicle Charging, and select ‘Access Control.’ You can choose ‘Any Electric Vehicle.’ Hope this helps!
I got this before buying the Prologue. It worked great with my Bolt and works just as well with the Prologue.

Thanks! I’ll go with that.
I’m about to install it, just waiting for some free time.

Looking forward to hearing how it goes!
Considering that almost all new EVs will come with NACS ports soon, this doesn’t seem like a bad choice.
My electrician installed it. It works great .
Doesn’t the Prologue come with a charger and $750 credit?

Yes. Option A was $500 off the charger installation. Option B was the portable charger, and Option C was $750 credit for EVgo. I chose Option C.
@Vail
Ah, I see. I have the Acura ZDX and the options were the same when I was looking at it. I’m surprised they changed it now, so the charger and installation credit don’t come as one option anymore.
@Tyson
To clarify, Option 1 includes the charger, $500 off installation via Honda Electric, and $100 EVgo credits.

Got it, that clears things up.
