Collision Mitigation System Problem, See Dealer

Hello guys I bought a 2019 Accord Sport 2.0T in March. In April, I got a “Collision Mitigation System Problem, See Dealer” error. The error disappeared when I turned the car off and on again. I took it to the dealer, but they could not find any reason for the error.

Everything was fine until now. The error came back yesterday morning and again this morning on my way to work. Both times, it went away when I turned the car off and on.

Has anyone else experienced this? How did you fix it? Thanks.

Encountering a Collision Mitigation System (CMS) problem is certainly worrisome. It’s crucial to promptly have it inspected by a dealer to ensure your safety and preempt any potential system malfunctions.

Has the bumper been painted or anything like after it was involved in an accident? If so, there’s a chance the blind spot sensors are malfunctioning, but most likely the dealer just needs to reflash it. For these reasons—too many things that could go wrong and encourage people to drive less attentively—I don’t want a new car.

It seems like you’re not alone with the Collision Mitigation System error in your 2019 Accord! A few others have experienced this disappearing warning too. There’s a potential fix. Mention service bulletin 19-051 to your dealer next time. It might involve a software update to address this issue. If that doesn’t work, they can try recalibrating the sensor. Don’t hesitate to be persistent with your dealer.
