My Honda Civic was stolen Wednesday morning in Tacoma, Washington. After class, I went back to where I parked, and it was just… gone. At first, I thought I might’ve parked somewhere else, but after searching the entire parking garage, it hit me—it was stolen.
I reported it, but honestly, I don’t think I’ll see it again. It had around 230K miles but ran great. I’m definitely going to miss it.
Now I need a cheap, reliable car to get me through until I graduate. If anyone around Tacoma, WA, has something available, send me a message. I can drive up to 2 hours to pick it up.
Man, my friend just had his Civic stolen too, and he also lives in WA. He went to see a movie with his girlfriend, came out, and it was gone. Whoever took it tried using his credit card all the way in Boise, ID. Called the police there, and they were no help at all. Typical.
@Pete
That sucks. At least I didn’t have anything valuable inside. Hope your friend and I both somehow get our cars back, but I’m not holding my breath.

Yeah, hopefully without a bunch of damage. I have a bad feeling at least one of them is gonna turn up burned, but I hope I’m wrong. Good luck, man.
Update: Got a call at 5 AM today… police found my car! I have to wait until tomorrow to pick it up. Fingers crossed it’s still in one piece and drivable.

That’s good to hear. People are out here stealing these old Japanese cars like crazy because they still have value.

Hope it’s not too messed up. Let us know how it looks when you get it back .
This is exactly why I installed a kill switch on my car. Mine got stolen on Thanksgiving 2023. From the security footage, it looks like they used a bump key. My car was completely stock and ugly too.
Edit: No, I didn’t have a kill switch before it was stolen. I really thought nobody would want it. Big mistake.
I used to work for a car-sharing company, and we had about 50 cars stolen over a few years. The police found almost all of them except one. You might get a call in a few weeks saying they found it. The inside will probably be trashed, but usually, it’s not too bad.
Hate to say it, but it’s probably gone for good. These cars get stripped for parts so fast. My friend had a ‘97 Civic stolen right out of his driveway, and it was never seen again.
