2022 Touring CPO… worth it?

What’s your take on a red 2022 Touring, certified pre-owned (not the + version), with about 42,000 miles, listed at $36,600? It was a local lease, regularly maintained, and seems like it was turned in at the end of the lease term. The CarFax looks clean.

I’m new to minivans, so I’d appreciate any advice you all have.

I just bought a new 2024 Touring for $43,500 (plus tax & fees). Depending on your interest rate, it might not cost much more to get a brand-new one with a full warranty. We decided to lease ours because we think a hybrid Odyssey might be coming in a few years, and we can decide what to do when the lease is up.

What does the CPO offer? If it has an extended warranty to 70k–100k miles, it could be worth it. Some CPOs only give 90 days or 3k miles, which doesn’t seem like much of a benefit.

@Vic
Good point, sorry I didn’t specify. It’s HondaTrue Certified, so it includes a powertrain warranty up to 100k miles, plus 12 months of non-powertrain coverage (up to 12k miles, but I probably won’t reach that in a year). It also comes with 2 free oil changes and Honda Care roadside assistance for the first year.

I’d consider a new one, but we really want the features of the Touring, and I’m trying to stay within this budget (outside of taxes and fees).

@Lior
That actually sounds like a solid deal! The Touring trim is great, and the 2021–2024 models have some of the best features for the price, especially with the DVD/BD player. And I’m a big fan of the red exterior!

@Vic
I like the red too, but since it’s a used purchase, I’m not being too picky on color. We should qualify for the best interest rate, and so far, it looks like Honda has the best offer. I’m still researching, but this is my first big step—getting a good idea of what’s fair.

@Lior
From what you’ve described, the price seems fair, especially with the CPO benefits. You can also look into Honda Care, which you can buy for any used Honda, usually at a good price if you shop around. Just keep in mind that in California, you’ll need to check with local dealers for the best deals on warranties. Here’s a thread with more info:

@Vic
That’s really helpful, thanks a lot! :blush:
