2015 Honda Accord remote start

About six months ago, my car alarm went off in a busy parking lot. I panicked and tried to turn it off with the key fob, but it turned on by itself. I was confused, turned it off, and couldn’t make it happen again, so I thought it was just a one-time thing. Today, it happened again. I turned it off, but this time I pressed random buttons, and it turned on again, so I know I’m not imagining it! Now, I think my Honda Accord LX might have a built-in remote start that they don’t mention because they want to sell you a more expensive model that has this feature and a key fob with a dedicated remote start button. Does anyone know anything about this?

From my experience, when a “Honda” car alarm goes off randomly like you mentioned, it’s usually not a genuine Honda alarm but an aftermarket one installed into the wiring. However, there’s a service bulletin about a problem with the remote engine start control unit on 2015 Accords. You should go to your dealership and ask about bulletin 15-039.

Is there a circle on one button that basically looks like an arrow drawn as a circle? Lock the the car and hold that circle button down. That’s remote start.

I will try tomorrow and let you know.

I just got a 2015 Civic LX, and the same thing happened to me today! I clicked the lock button a bunch of times while walking away, and it started up, but I couldn’t make it happen again. I wish I could figure it out so I could use it!

By the way, for those saying it’s the remote start feature, my key fob only has lock, unlock, trunk, and panic buttons.

It’s happened to me a bunch of times. I wish I could figure it out

It’s the Honda Vinci code

I’ve figured it out! Now I can do this anytime I want! I just double-tap the lock button, then hold it. The lights flash, the doors unlock and lock again, and the car starts right up! I’m pretty excited about this, just need to be careful not to do it by accident when I’m leaving my car.

On the new Ridgeline, you press the lock button twice, then hold down the round arrow button for five seconds.

You might want to try something similar.

I figured it out for my car: you just have to press the lock button twice the unlock button once and press and hold the lock button till the car starts

What kind of Honda Accord do you have?
