2005 Honda Accord for $1500 A Good Deal?

A guy I know is trying to get rid of his 2005 Honda Accord. It has slightly over 190,000 miles on it, very little exterior damage (a minor rear crack and a few paint chips that he fixed with color-matched Honda paint), and, despite some wear and use from his kids, the interior is absolutely cleanable. The only true “unfixable” faults are a tiny crack on the back and a tiny fracture in the passenger side windscreen, both of which, he assures me, can be fixed with some gel if they ever become a problem.

It seems like a very good deal, to be honest. I perform yard work for this guy regularly; I am a teenager. He promised to cut me a bargain for $1500 if I needed a car, which I will in a month and a half when I can obtain my licence. I do not want to completely rip him off, but I think I could bargain it down a little. What are your thoughts on a deal such as this one?

or $1500 that would be ripping the man off. But it is also 2024, he could as well give it to you for $50 since at 19000 miles, I suspect it won’t be a year before you need to change that engine which might be costly. So think twice, you know when the deal is too good, think twice.

Great price to be honest. But yeah, he won’t take long before he needs an engine overhaul. The long in question would be maybe 2-3 years with proper maintenance, since they are a teenager, I gather they wont be traveling for longer distances
