Wrapped my roof black… what do you all think?

Looks clean

You should add some tints

Yeah, I really want them, but I’d need an exemption for NY :sob:

I’m in NY too, cops don’t really care about tints anymore. My first car had 35% in the front, 20% in the back, no issues. Now I’ve got 20% in the front and 5% in the back, never been stopped for it. I roll down the windows when I get pulled over for other stuff, so they don’t even check. You should be fine.

@Hart
I get that, but a friend of mine got stopped and ticketed for every window… ended up paying over a grand in fines.

That’s rough

I’m in MD. I know a couple of cops in my area, so I just went with the legal limit to avoid issues.

@Hart
I’m in CT, so correct me if I’m wrong… but isn’t the bigger issue getting it passed in inspections? We don’t have that here, but people with NY plates always say they have to find certain places that let it slide. Is it hard to find a shop that’ll pass you?

@Erie
It’s not hard at all. I went to the first mechanic near me, and he didn’t even ask about it.

@Hart
For those of us in NY with an 11th Gen… do you have any issues during inspection? Or do most places ignore the tints? I keep mine at 30% all around for me and my family, feels like a good balance.

@San
No problems so far. I think most shops just want your business and don’t care. But that’s just my experience.

Almost every car in NY has tints, even the windshield. Just get them, no one really cares, not even the guys doing inspections.

If you really want dark tints, you could register your car in NJ instead. Back tints are legal there. You just need an NJ address—it doesn’t even have to be yours, could be a friend or relative.

Not sure about NY, but in Jersey, it’s super easy to get tints. I have 5% all around, except the front which is at 20%. Get ceramic if you can—it’s more expensive but worth it in the summer.

Haha I was thinking of doing the same thing, I have the same car

A local shop did mine for $250, pretty good deal I think.

That’s a solid price. Thanks! It looks great.

Looks great, and I haven’t seen anyone else do this on this model. Really creative move :+1:

Appreciate it! I actually got the idea from a post I saw on this forum. Let me try to find it.
