Why is the hood prop for Honda Accord so expensive … any cheaper options out there

My 2016 Sonata has hydraulics for the hood, so I don’t need a prop. Mechanics always grab them after almost getting hit by the hood.

The part is made for assembly lines, so the high price is like an inconvenience fee.

Maybe don’t lose your hood prop next time. I’ve owned 5 Hondas and never lost one.
