What’s this bike called?

That bike has been sitting outside the dorms since at least 2021. Security has moved it a couple of times. Good luck getting it if they let you buy it. I think it’s unregistered or abandoned.

By the way, do you know anything about the abandoned Skyline 32? Just curious.

@Jalen
Sorry, don’t know anything about that one.

Pretty sure it’s a Yamaha… or maybe a Honda.

VT250F with a VF500 half fairing attached.

Judging by the engine, I’d say it’s a VF500 (also called an Interceptor). Doesn’t seem big enough to be a 750, and the 400s are rare. It’s a V4 engine, so it has two forward and two rear pistons. That makes working on the carbs a pain, but it’s a nimble and light bike. Perfect for learning. The 80s style is fantastic—definitely worth restoring for a collector. Parts can be tricky to find, but it sounds incredible when running.

Looks like a VT250F. The picture might be edited to make it black. Zoom in to check. What are they trying to pass it off as?

No edits, I took the picture myself. I don’t know who owned it or anything about its history other than it’s abandoned.

@Jalen
Got it :+1:t3:

Looks like a Honda to me. If I had to guess, it’s probably one of their older models with an internal combustion engine. Not an expert, though.

Let it sit and rot. Here’s why—it’s not a high-performance bike, so it’s not super desirable. Also, check with transport regulations if you’re thinking of taking it back to the US. That’s where it gets complicated. Look at the VIN too; it might not match US standards, which causes chaos when registering it. Same issue with insurance.
