I need a cheap car I can pay for outright because I don’t want to deal with two car loans. There’s this 2007 Fit for $6,000 near me. It has 109,000 miles and a great service record on the report. Should I be worried about anything?
Looks like it’s missing the front lip and has some paint damage. You should check if the accident history shows up on the report. Honestly, I’d skip it at this price.

The report says there was minor damage to the rear, but no airbags were deployed and the title isn’t marked as rebuilt.
Yeah, you should try negotiating. Just ask, ‘What’s the best you can do?’ Then tell them you’ll think about it and compare other cars you’ve looked at. Also, take a friend who knows cars. They can spot things that are broken or missing that you might overlook and the seller definitely won’t point out.
Since it’s been in an accident and has paint damage, I’d aim to get the price under $5,000. These cars can usually last well past 200,000 miles though.
That’s a lot to pay. I got my 2007 Fit for $3,500 with 150k miles, and it was in great shape. Either negotiate hard or look for something else.

Same here. I got mine last fall, 2007 model, 120k miles, for $3,000. Love it.
@Jules
I’m a little jealous. I bought mine for $3,000 but it had 166k miles. My friend got theirs with 140k miles and paid $7,000, so I guess it could be worse.
@Jules
Wow, those prices must be from a different part of the country. You’d never find deals like that where I live.

I paid $5,700 for a 2012 model with 86k miles, and it was in great condition.
Considering the minor accident, the most I’d pay for that is $2,500, maybe $3,000 at most.

The used car market where I live (Birmingham, AL) is crazy. Prices here are even worse than the national average.

Sounds like car prices where you live are way different from what I’m used to.
Are you sure it’s really the Sport model, or is it just a base model with a Sport body kit added?

The report says it’s a Sport.
I got a 2013 Fit with 110,000 miles for $6,500. This doesn’t seem like a great price for a 2007.
For the price of a fancy dinner? Maybe. Just know you’ll likely have water leaking into the cargo area since it’s been hit in the rear. Even on a good day, first-gen Fits usually need sealant on the hatch welds. Trust me on that.
Be careful with any used car that’s been freshly painted white. It’s often a red flag.

Why would that be an issue?
If it’s a manual Sport trim, that’s actually a good deal. These are getting harder to find and are going up in value.
