I was always into Subarus, but I bought an Accord for daily driving and now I’m hooked on Hondas. Here’s a pic:
I feel like the TSX was peak Honda. Especially the second-gen with the J35 engine.

A lot of people say the TSX is Honda’s best. I personally prefer the first-gen style, and the K24A2 with the 6-speed manual is hard to beat.
@Rin
I like both styles. But yeah, the K24 with the 6-speed manual might be the best version of the TSX.
@Rin
Same here. The K24 is such a solid engine.
I’ve driven cars just like the ones in your pic. Hondas are smooth, especially the sedans. FXT manual is still fun when you want some power.

The FXT was great for pulls, but I sold it because I didn’t like how the previous owner built it. I wanted something stock to work on myself. Now I have a 6-speed TSX and plan to get another Subaru someday. I had an ’03 WRX that I loved, but it had rust issues, and clean ones are just too pricey to daily. The auto got boring, too.
I have both an Accord and a Legacy. The Accord feels more luxurious and smooth. The Legacy is like a sporty little truck, bouncing all over.

I thought my Accord had a smooth ride until I got the TSX. It’s so much better, especially with the upgraded rear sway bar. My Subarus were fun and handled like go-karts, but I had to make a more budget-friendly choice for now.
@Rin
I miss my 2009 TSX for exactly these reasons.
If that’s a 4-cylinder 7th-gen Accord from 2003–2005, that’s exactly like mine. Same color, same trim, same wheels.

Yeah, but mine’s on 17-inch Mazda wheels since it originally came with 15-inch steelies. The Mazdas look close to the 16-inch wheels that came on the 7th-gen Accords.
@Rin
No way! That’s awesome. Is yours an ’05 too?
I have a few Hondas and a Subaru SH XT. They’re all great, but the Subaru has needed way more repairs over the years.

Same here. Most of my Honda issues have been suspension-related, and my Accord has had minor engine problems. The Subarus, though, are way more expensive to fix. I love both brands, but Hondas are cheaper for daily use and repairs. Still, Subarus hold a special place for me.
I’ve had my 2004 TSX since 2012. It’s starting to show its age now.

How many miles do you have on it? Mine is at 241,000, and I’ve only had to replace some suspension bushings and joints.
@Rin
Mine has 234,000 kilometers—I’m in Canada. Not sure what that is in miles, but it’s up there. The engine still runs great after 20 years and doesn’t burn oil, but there are lots of little issues now.
@Gracen
That’s around 145,000 miles. Early models like the ’04 often had more issues than the later years. My Accord burns oil, but the TSX doesn’t seem to have that problem.
