Should I fix her up or let her go?

If you’re done with her, I’d be more than happy to take her off your hands haha

Honestly, if I decide to move on, I’d rather see it go to someone who actually appreciates it instead of sending it to the scrapyard. It has too much sentimental value.

@Kai
Totally understand. A proper VTEC on the road again would be amazing! Do you have a price in mind if you decide to sell?

These cars deserve to be saved. Just swap out those taillights.

Yeah, teenage me thought chrome looked cool. I’ve seen the blacked-out ones and even the new LED ring designs from Japan. If I go through with this, I’ll make sure to do it right this time.

You know what? This thing will destroy everything… after you throw about fifteen grand into it. And if needed, we can overnight parts from Japan.

Haha love it!

Funny thing—this car had its own moment of fame. Took my girlfriend to see the first Fast & Furious in it. Had underglow lights wired to a remote, and when everyone was leaving the theater talking about how cool the movie was, I clicked the remote, and boom—deep blue lights lit up under my car.

I was the only one in the lot with a decked-out ride, so people gathered around to check it out. Back then, I was in a car club and had Streetglow neons, a full sound system with twin 12” subs, and all the shiny parts you could imagine.

The pic I posted of the ripped-out center console? That radio is the legendary Pioneer one with the pixelated dolphin and F1 car animations. Man, those were good times.

@Kai
I had a CRX back then, but my friend had a Hyundai Tiburon that was falling apart. Leaving the theater was terrifying because every kid with a random beat-up car thought they were in a street race.

@Nico
Hahaha

This is the perfect car to drop in a JDM H22A. Pretty much plug and play. You’ll want a tune or a JDM ECU, but even the stock one will work with the right injectors.

Any H or F series could fit, but if you’re swapping, might as well go big.

Plenty of performance parts out there too.

Also, replace all the suspension bushings with polyurethane—Energy Suspension or Prothane should have full kits.

@Cedar
Funny you mention that—I originally had the H23, but I swapped in a VTEC from JDM Direct in ‘04, and it came with the upgraded ECU. Always wanted to go further with a Hondata setup and maybe even a turbo.

I definitely wanted to do poly bushings and upgrade the suspension, but back then, I just didn’t have the money. Now that I’m hitting 40, I’m thinking of bringing this car back to life.

The engine blew because I was young and dumb, then I joined the Army and parked it… and somehow, 20 years flew by. LoL

Have you checked out RC Auto Works? They do custom fabrication and are based in the Chicagoland area.

I’m near St. Louis, so I’ve been looking around here first, but I’ll check them out. Thanks!

No question about it—bring it back.

If you don’t fix it up, I will.

You should definitely do it! I’m restoring my ‘98 after my ‘95 got totaled (was parked—totally not my fault). These cars deserve some love.

Yeah, aside from the engine work, mine is in solid shape. Always loved the way it looked and handled, so I know I’ve got a good base to work with.
