These cars don’t usually have many problems aside from the A/C system. You might be lucky, but if you search on forums, you’ll find many stories about the A/C failing.
If it does go bad, I believe Honda will cover the condenser for free, since it’s a common issue.
Glad to see you went with the manual, I have a 2014 Si but rarely see manual base models anymore.
@Rafael
I freeze my butt off most of the time, even in summer, so the A/C isn’t a big deal (my truck only had engine bay vents or just the windows ). But thanks for the heads up!
I really pushed the guy helping me get the car; he was relieved to not have to find a manual anymore . He kept asking if I could just go for an automatic. Nope. Two requests: reliable and stick, that’s all I wanted
@Tan
That 2.0 engine is super reliable, I’ve seen many of these cars with over 250k miles. Just take care of it, and it’ll take care of you!
Also, don’t forget to change the transmission fluid every few oil changes; it’s cheaper than oil and helps keep the car running smoothly. I change mine every 20k miles or 4 oil changes.
There’s a ton of aftermarket support, too, if you want to upgrade. I suggest checking out some acuity shifter upgrades. That’s all I’ve done, and it really improved the shifter feel. Makes driving even more fun .
@Rafael
I’ve taken mine in 5 times for A/C repairs since I got it in 2021. I’ll probably get a new car once the extended warranty runs out in 2026, haha.

Haha, looks like you’re not alone OP!
I never had A/C issues, but I only owned my 2020 for a year and 30k miles before it got totaled.
@Rafael
Had the condenser replaced in 2021, again in 2022, and a new compressor in 2023 for $1800. Took it back twice in 2024. First time, the compressor was replaced; second time, they said a cap was missing, so my freon leaked. I’ll probably need to take it back in the spring.
But other than the A/C issues, it’s been a great car.
Always go for the manual .
Enjoy the ride .
I have a CVT instead of a manual, but tuning my 2.0 was definitely worth it. You might want to look into a KTuner.
These are awesome cars with the K20 engine and 6MT, you can’t go wrong.

Isn’t it the L15 turbo?

Looks like an LX 6MT.

Yes, exactly .
@Tan
Best value Civic. It has Android Auto, CarPlay, heated seats, auto climate control, and the most reliable engine and transmission combo. What more do you need?

Right I’m not complaining at all. Would be nice if my Android Auto worked though
@Tan
Does it disconnect often? You should get a wireless Android Auto box from AliExpress.

That’s the plan. Since I got it, it keeps saying my cord is wrong. I’ve tried 100 different cords, no luck . I’ve tried all the software fixes too, but nothing works. I’d prefer wireless anyway, so it’d be better in the long run.
Upvote for manual .
It’s a Honda, just keep good oil in it, change it often, and don’t drive like you’re in a race. It’ll last forever. I have an '09 LX-S with 170,000 miles. The A/C went out, but I’m not fixing it since the replacements aren’t much better. That’s what windows are for
