Is Honda accord 2008 reliable?

Guyz, I just purchased a 2008 Accord with 178,000 kms on it. I’ve read online that the brakes are faulty and need to be repaired every 25,000 kms. Is this true? Also, are there any other issues I should be aware of?

Yes, basically Honda accord 2008 generally considered to be a reliable vehicle.

Yes, they’re reliable but tend to burn oil, so keep an eye on that. The brake issue is related to sticking calipers, but if they’ve been replaced, you should be fine. The 8th gen Accords don’t have many problems, but the main ones are leaking axle seals, catalytic converters failing around 130k miles (I had to replace one for my 2011), sticking calipers, leaking power steering, and VTC actuators failing.

Hi…The 2008 Honda Accord is generally considered to be a reliable vehicle. It’s known for its solid build quality, longevity, and good resale value.

The claim that all 2008 Accords require brake maintenance every 25,000 kilometers is largely untrue, even though there may be some validity to internet reports (15,500 miles). A summary is provided below:

braking

Wear and Tear from Normal Use: Friction causes brakes to deteriorate over time. Numerous variables, including as driving style, terrain, and load, affect the longevity.
Inspection and Maintenance: As indicated by Honda, it is imperative that you have your brakes inspected on a regular basis. To find out when this should happen, consult your owner’s handbook.
Replacing worn-out or damaged pads, rotors, or calipers is necessary when they reach a specific threshold. This mileage isn’t fixed; it changes based on the inspection.
