In about two weeks, two rocks hit my 2021 Odyssey’s windshield, and one caused a crack that’s spreading. I asked the dealer about the replacement cost, and they said it would be $2,500 (I think that includes replacement and calibration). Is that the normal price now?
Yes. Adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert, and automatic emergency braking add more sensors to the front glass. So, when you replace the glass, you need to recalibrate everything connected to it. It’s not just about swapping out the old windshield for a new one anymore.
The 2022 Accord’s OEM glass cost $1,500 through Safelite. They did a great job with the windshield and calibration. Fortunately, my insurance covered the cost, so I didn’t have to pay anything.
I’m guessing your state doesn’t offer windshield coverage? That’s too bad. All I can suggest is to shop around.
OEM glass will cost twice as much as aftermarket glass. If your car doesn’t have any special features for the windshield, I’d go with OEM.
Yes, it cost about the same for my parents’ 2019 Pilot. All those fancy Honda sensing features make it more expensive, unfortunately.
