So, here’s a bit of a crazy story… I finally got my free Tesla Supercharger to CCS1 adapter in the mail today. Honestly, I don’t recommend doing things this way, but here’s how it worked: about 9 months ago, I bought my wife a Mach E. It got totaled just 6 days later. Then, I bought a Prologue in June and waited for Ford to send the free adapter they promised at the time of purchase, which took 10 months. At least now, when I get myself a Model Y performance next month, I’ll be fully covered. It’s got a 1772 adapter for our Honda charger at home, I can Supercharge, and even on those rare road trips, the wife now has all the charging options she needs.
You got me, sorry to hear about the Mach-E. Hope things work out better now. Have an upvote .

Sorry about the Mach E… must’ve been tough for you.
Why would you still buy a Tesla? (Talking about the Model Y, not the adapter)

It’s simple. The tech is amazing and it’s super reliable. Plus, there’s no other AWD SUV-ish in this price range that can do 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.
@Rin
I get that it’s fast, but why does that matter? Are you planning to race it? Personally, anything connected to Elon is a no-go for me.

I know a guy who got a Model 3, and he couldn’t care less about Elon. He just wanted a good electric car, and Tesla’s tech is top-notch. Even if you’re not a fan of the guy, the car works well.
@Matt
Tesla’s tech is unbeatable. It’s like having an iPhone on wheels. Not everyone gets it, but I do. That’s why we bought the Prologue for my wife, she wanted something simpler. But here in Washington, with all the EV infrastructure and high gas tax, it makes sense to ditch my gas guzzler.
@Rin
Just wait until you’re dealing with long repairs and parts delays. You’ll get a real taste of the ‘EV experience’ then.

That’s kind of the norm with EVs now, right? My wife’s Mach E got totaled, not because of damage, but because of how long it would take Ford to repair it. I’ve seen similar problems with the Prologue too. As for Tesla, I get the hate if you’re against Elon, but the car’s reliability and performance speak for themselves. My main issue now is figuring out how to juggle cars in the garage for charging.
@Rin
The main issue is getting parts from a smaller manufacturer like Tesla. It’s easier to get parts from bigger automakers. But performance-wise, Tesla’s got it. Just don’t expect great reliability.

Honestly, I didn’t care when people thought the Tesla was a virtue signaling car. And I don’t mind if you think Elon is the worst. I live in a great place for mountain driving, and my Model Y will be seeing plenty of that. But hey, thanks for your disapproval. It really made my day.
@Rin
“Spirited mountain driving”
@Rin
Do you really need to go 0-60 in 3.5 seconds? Cars like the Blazer and Prologue are fast enough for regular driving. Also, the Model Y is more SUV-ish in name. It barely has enough clearance to do any real off-roading.
@Rory
I don’t think anyone really needs to go that fast, but it’s fun. Personally, I think the Y looks a bit odd, whereas the Prologue has a retro Honda look that I really like. But hey, no judgment if you love your Tesla. It’s a good car.
@Milan
When I was at the dealership, a salesman said Teslas look like computer mice. I get it now — they do kinda look like a mouse with a tail.
@Milan
I also like the Prologue’s look more. I test-drove it first and loved it, but I went with the Blazer because the LT version was cheaper and had more features. I was also worried about Honda’s commitment to the Ultium platform in the long run.
@Rory
The Prologue is fast enough for regular driving, and sport mode gives it that extra punch.
