I’d recommend getting some. I just went through this. Got some aluminum ones on Amazon for about $20.

So, I do need them? I keep hearing mixed things from people.

It depends on your wheels. Most aftermarket wheels are made with larger hub sizes to fit more cars. Civics have 64.1 mm hubs. Mine were 70.1 mm, and without rings, they wouldn’t align perfectly and caused some vibration. Plastic rings work fine and are cheaper too.
@Rylan
So should I be looking for 64.1 mm rings?

Yes, you’ll need the bore size of both your car and the wheel. The ring just fills in the gap to help center the wheel when mounting.

Honestly, I’m new to this and have no clue about any of those numbers… first time getting rims.

Have you tried fitting them on the car yet?

Not yet, they’re still in my trunk.
@Orlando
Maybe they’ll fit fine as they are. Sometimes you get lucky and don’t need the rings.

I’m just worried since both my friends have similar wheels, and neither of them has rings.
@Orlando
Sometimes people get away without using rings, but it can still cause minor issues. It’s a bit of a gamble.
@Rylan
They’re 18x9 wheels with a +35 offset if that helps.

Got it. You just need the hub size in millimeters to be sure.
I’d say go with hubcentric rings if you need them.

My issue is that I’m not sure if I really need them.

Just get them. They make sure the wheels are centered right. Wobbly wheels can be worse than the cost of rings. Plastic rings work fine. They’re not load-bearing once the lug nuts are tight. Metal ones are more durable but might get stuck, so plastic is usually easier.

Do you know what size I should be looking at?

Not sure, but Civics have 64.1 mm hubs. Some plastic rings on Amazon are 64.15 mm ID, which should be close enough. You’ll also need to find out your wheel’s bore size for the outer diameter.
