Not realistic? A PPI costs about $100 and it’s worth it. You get the car inspected properly, even if it’s just a $5k car. You do you, but I wouldn’t risk buying a car without knowing everything.
Try to get a discount for the exhaust issue. If you’re up for it, you could try fixing it yourself. If not, it’s fine. You have every right to walk away from the deal. But if you look elsewhere, stick with Honda or Toyota.

Oh, I misread. If it’s under warranty, just get it fixed then.
I have the same car with 260k miles, and it’s still going strong. I’d fix it.
That’s pretty much what you get with any car at that age. Either drive it with the exhaust leak or get it fixed under warranty. It’s not dangerous.
Despite the exhaust leak, it sounds like you made a poor financial decision if you ‘spent all your money’ on the car. Maybe see if you can get more help from someone.
