It is my turn in my family to get a new car, and I am set on getting a white Honda Civic, the Type R model. I’ve understood that inventory in the bay is scarce and markups are still adamant. I am asking which dealership I can get the best chance of getting a white Civic Type R out the door for no more than 55k?
I’ve tried my local Vallejo Avery Greene and Fairfield honda, but they’re hard headed refusing no less than 10k markup (MSRP + Destination is 47.3k).
I purchased my 2024 Type R from Lodi Honda, and it was a straightforward experience with no hidden fees or unexpected add-ons. I believe they can offer MSRP or something close to it now.
I bought my car from Honda Walnut Creek two years ago and was mostly satisfied with my experience. They were the sixth dealership I visited that day and had a much better attitude, offering the fairest prices. If you go there, ask for Dipendra. Good luck!
I used to work at SF Honda, so I’m surprised that the other person managed to negotiate a lower price. Dealerships that sell at or near MSRP—especially for a Type R—typically have salespeople who earn commissions based on the number of units sold rather than gross profit. SF Honda operates on gross profit, while Serramonte is unit-based. Avery Greene is too large to be concerned about individual sales. I can’t speak to how Fairfield operates.
We purchased our CR-V at Anderson Honda in Palo Alto, and they treated us very fairly. Unlike other dealers who were asking for above MSRP, we managed to get it for less.
