Whoops, my bad, I’m new to this forum
Mine was a bit of an oil burner, but it ran well.

Make sure your valves are adjusted properly, and it should be fine. If it still burns oil more than you’d like, try a piston soak with Berryman B-12. That could help a lot.
The green light means cruise control is on. You can turn it on/off from the right side of your steering wheel.

Got it, thanks! I just couldn’t figure out what it meant, and I’m not familiar with these cars.
@Taran
I bought an '09 new. I’ve replaced the tires, brakes, wiper blades, and batteries. The valves should be adjusted around 100k miles. If yours has the V6, the timing belt is on a 100k-mile schedule too. I replace all fluids every 60k miles. It’s been great, still runs like new. I get around 18-20 mpg in the city and 29-34 mpg on the highway.
They burn oil, but the K24 engine and 5MT combo are solid. The green light is the cruise control indicator.
Solid cars. If well-maintained, they can last 200k-300k miles on the original engine and transmission. They’re not the fastest, but for a commuter, they’re sporty, fun, and handle well. The seats could be more comfortable, though. Mine burns some oil, which is common, so just keep an eye on that. Also, if the starter has never been replaced, it might be due around 100k-150k miles (mine lasted until 170k).
Great cars. I’ve got a 2010 automatic with 160k miles. I’ve only done fluid changes, brakes, and tires. The A/C just started acting up, but I can wait until next summer to fix it. Never had any other repairs.
I’ve got a 2010 coupe that my son drives. Bought it at 163k miles, and now it has nearly 200k miles. It does consume oil, but other than that, it’s been very reliable.
147k miles on the LX trim, paint’s in bad shape, black plastic hubcaps, and the seller still wants $6k? I don’t know about that. I’d check prices for similar cars before making an offer. But, the 2.4 engines are really reliable, and the manual transmission is rare but well-built. The interior’s in decent shape, so if you end up buying it, good luck!
I’ve got a 2012 with about 80k miles. I bought it with 9k miles, and it’s been great. I burn about a quart of oil between my 5k-mile oil changes, but I also drive it hard.

I can’t believe people are saying these burn oil. As long as you keep the oil changed regularly, they won’t burn it. I’ve got a 2004 with 210k miles and no oil issues at all. Best car I’ve ever owned.
If you can, go for the 2L automatic. It doesn’t have the oil issues the 2.4 has. Besides that, it’s a super reliable car.
Don’t move off your price range.
Try negotiating the price down a little.
I say go for it. If you can get them closer to your budget, that’s ideal. But this kind of car is worth it. I have a 2006 2.4 automatic with 245k miles and a 2000 2.3 5-speed with 301k miles, both still running every day. I got them from family for practically nothing and spent less than $5k on both, doing the routine maintenance myself. I know not everyone likes to work on cars, but these Hondas are affordable and reliable. The Accord is comfortable, spacious, reliable, fuel-efficient, and fun to drive. After VTEC kicks in, it’s got some pep. It’s not a sports car, but it handles well and has plenty of aftermarket options. If I bought it tomorrow, I’d change all the fluids myself, including doing an oil flush with AMSOIL before refilling with AMSOIL Signature Series oil and an OE Honda filter. I’d flush the brakes, inspect the pads, and change the transmission fluid. If the tires are good and the alignment’s right, you’re good to go. For the transmission, I’ve heard GM Synchromesh works well, or you can use 10W-30 motor oil like I did in my '00 Accord. The owner’s manual says it’s okay to use if other options aren’t available. But hey, good luck with whatever you decide!
Wish they didn’t burn so much oil. But they’re really comfortable.
