I live in a humid area, and in winter my windshield always fogs up. Even when it’s mostly clear, I keep getting this alert. If I dismiss it, it shows up again after two minutes and just won’t stop. Does anyone else deal with this or know how to fix it?
You can try pressing the home button. Also, when the camera lens is clean, it usually stops happening. I get this every winter too because of the extra humidity. Try using a glass cleaner or even waxing the area outside the lens.
@Winter
Be careful not to use glass cleaner like Windex on the inside of tinted windows. It can mess them up and turn them purple.

I think it depends on the kind of tint you have. I’ve been using Windex for years on my windows, and I’ve never had any issues with mine.
@Hal
Do you have factory tint or aftermarket tint? I’m talking about the adhesive kind that’s applied on the inside of the glass. Windex is fine for the outside, but it’s risky on the inside where the film is applied.
@Joss
I have aftermarket tint on my 2013 Honda Civic Si. It’s been there since 2013, and I’ve cleaned it plenty of times with Windex without any problems. Just cleaned it again today to be sure.

From what I’ve read, a quick spray and wipe shouldn’t cause harm, but I’d avoid ammonia-based products just to be safe.
@Riley
Yeah, it all depends on the quality of the tint. Cheap tints might have problems, but good-quality tints hold up fine.

Have you had any issues with flaking or colour changes over time? I heard the real risk is letting ammonia sit on the film for too long, not just a quick wipe.

I just used Windex on mine. Does it mess up the tint after one use, or does it take repeated use? Also, what’s the best way to clean the tinted side of the window?
@Riley
Use a glass cleaner that doesn’t have ammonia in it.

I looked it up and saw that too. But is one time with Windex enough to ruin the tint? I’m hoping it’s okay.

I’m not sure, but to be safe, you might want to clean it again to remove any leftover chemicals.

If your tint isn’t cheap stuff, you should be fine. I’ve been cleaning mine with Windex for years and never had an issue.
@Hal
I’ve got 3M ceramic tints, so hopefully, it’s safe.
@Hal
Wait, are you using Windex on both the inside and outside of your windows?
@Riley
Usually, aftermarket tint is on the inside. If you used Windex once, it’s probably okay, but I’d give it a quick wipe down just in case. For cleaning, a damp cloth and drying with paper towels work well for the inside.
@Joss
Yeah, I doubt anyone would apply tint to the outside since it’d get damaged from the weather. That wouldn’t make sense.

You’re right, but some people don’t have much experience with cars, so I try to explain even the basics. The more people know, the better.
Check your cabin air filter. Avoid running the A/C on recirculate, and use the defrost setting to help with the fog.
