Anyone else missing the 6th Gen Honda Accord Coupe?

I’ve got a 2000 Honda Accord Coupe, and it’s a rare sight here in the UK. Still running great! Anyone else out there with one of these?

I’m a big fan of the Accord Coupe from this generation. The NSX-style lights are just amazing on it.

Totally agree .

The new Prelude kind of reminds me of the last couple of Accord and Civic coupes. Maybe it’s just me.

I miss my 6th gen Accord every day, 10/10.

What made you part with it in the end?

Seems like we all lose our 6th gen due to accidents or transmission issues. :pensive:

@Jonah
How many miles did you get before it gave up? Was it the V6 model?

It was a 4-cylinder. I still have it, but the transmission is definitely shot. It only has 153k miles, but I wasn’t always kind to it.

@Jonah
Fair enough. Mine has 95k, so hopefully it has a few more years in it.

Trust me, regular transmission fluid changes every 35k miles would have kept mine going longer.

Had to junk it because I had too many cars, and that one was the weakest link. It was my first car—2.3L manual coupe. I learned so much fixing that car, even engine swapping and bodywork. It was a blast to drive. I could keep up with a lot of V6s with just minimal work. My 06 Civic’s great, but I’d take another 6th gen Accord or Civic if I had the chance.

I thought it was an NSX for a second .

This is a gorgeous Honda Accord! Reminds me of this one: https://youtu.be/ANEkAEH17Mc

I had a V6 a few years ago in the UK. Loved it. Had 77k miles and was in great condition after I did a rust repair. It was a steal for £1600. American-made with comfy suspension and thick tires. I was going to lower it but loved the ride too much. I only owned it for a year before an off-duty policewoman wrote it off in a bloody Juke. There were fewer than 200 V6s in the country, and now there’s one less. A Honda mechanic near me has a green one with gold trim. He won’t sell it. The V6 auto transmissions aren’t great, but it was still a great car.

That’s heartbreaking, a Juke of all cars… That would definitely be a nightmare.

I wasn’t a happy camper. I would’ve had to sell it soon because of the ULEZ expansion, but I miss it. People loved it, and it was so affordable for what it was.

Where’s that mechanic with the Accord? Could be useful for some repairs down the road.

His name’s Mike. He’s worked on Hondas for decades. He shares a garage with Lee Clutch Centre, who are great too. He’s a one-man operation now, but the place used to be the first Honda dealership in London. It’s in SE London. 310 Sangley Rd - Google Maps You’ll notice two E-Types in the shop front.

@Lian
I’m up north! But thanks. I’ll keep it in mind if I ever need something big done.
