I’ve just hit 200,000 miles on my 2015 Civic 1.8. It’s been a solid ride so far, and I wanted to see if others have had a similar experience. How far have you gotten with your Civic, and have you had to deal with any major repairs?
I’ve got 278,000 miles on my 2015 Civic. Best car I’ve ever owned. I change the oil every 3-5k miles. Aside from brakes, I’ve only had to replace a transmission sensor, alternator, O2 sensor, and battery sensor. No major issues—still running on the original timing chain and getting 35 mpg. Back when I drove a lot, I’d just keep cars like this until they gave up or something major happened.

I’m sitting at 138k miles. Had to fix the muffler and rear sway bar bushings, but other than that, just regular oil changes and brake work. I really love this car. If the engine ever goes, I’d probably consider an engine swap if the body’s still in good shape.

I’ve got 228,000 on my 2013 Civic. Still runs just as good as the day I got it.
I’m at 117,500 miles on my 2013 Civic. Planning to keep it going until at least 250k or maybe even 300k.
Congrats on hitting 200k! I’m at 188k on mine and hoping to cross the 200k mark soon. Did you need to replace anything big along the way? Are you still running on the original alternator and suspension?
Any tips for keeping a car running that long? Is there anything special you do for maintenance?

Honestly, just stick to the basics—regular oil changes, routine maintenance, and don’t drive it too hard. If it’s not a 1.5 turbo, Civics from 2006-2015 with the R18, K20, or K24 engines are incredibly reliable. No fancy tricks needed.
That’s awesome to see. I’m hoping to get to 300k too. My 2019 is at 112,000, and I drive about 25k a year.
I’ve got the same car. I’m close to hitting 195k now.
I’m at 64k on my 2015 Civic. Working from home for the past few years has definitely slowed down my mileage.
110k on my 2017 Civic. I’ve driven 88k of those miles myself. Hoping to get it to 300k.
130k on my 2010 Civic. Slowly catching up .
I’m at 121k on my 2016 Civic with the turbo engine. Still feels like new. Just keeping up with oil and filter changes and brakes so far.
Nice milestone. I’m at 95k on my 2007 Civic SI. If I keep it, I fully expect to hit 250k+, but at my current driving pace, it’ll take decades .
I’m sitting at 180k on my 2012 Civic. Still going strong.
Those R series engines are amazing. I had a 2006 Civic with an earlier version of your engine, and it was still going strong at 262k when I sold it. Could have easily done another 100k.
A bit nervous about my 11th gen Civic with the 1.5 turbo, but fingers crossed.
Here’s to another 200k. Keep driving.
I’m at 140k on my 2018 Civic. It’s got some wear and tear, but it still drives beautifully.
