Anyone else dealing with electrical issues?

It mostly happens when it’s cold outside. Once the car warms up, it stops acting up. The dealer said it would cost about a thousand to replace the cluster, but I’m not going to do that.

It’s not the battery. This is a common problem with this model. You can live with it or fix it by soldering a wire. I can’t recall the exact video tutorial, but someone here might share it soon.

Someone just shared the video! I’ll send it to a few of my mechanic friends and see who’s up for helping me out. I’ve been dealing with it since it only happens in the colder months.

I just bought a third-gen model yesterday, and this started as soon as I got home. Seems like it’s a common issue with bad solder connections in the dash cluster, especially when it’s cold. Here’s the fix I found: https://youtu.be/QTGmqyX1GUA?si=qaqCA9M3wNSO4YDN

@Finley
That’s helpful! I’m not great with cars, so I’ll share this with a couple of friends who might be able to help. Thanks for the link.

I just give the dash a good smack, and it works.

That works about half the time for me. Usually, after driving for 10 minutes and then giving it a tap, it goes back to normal.

Same here.

If it were -168 degrees, I’d probably feel off too.

It got stuck on -130 for like 10 minutes the other day. It made me laugh.

Looks like your car is throwing a tantrum.

Fiona hates the cold, haha.

I feel you. It’s definitely having a moment!

This is a known problem. My 2015 model had the same issue. When it’s cold, the display glitches or shows a blank blue screen. If you’re not good with taking apart the dash and soldering, the fix could cost about $1,000. The video shared earlier explains the process, but it’s not something I’d try myself. I just wait for the car to warm up, and the display usually comes back. This should have been a recall, but it wasn’t. Let us know if your friends manage to fix it for you.

@Graydon
Once, I forgot to fill up on gas, and the next morning, the fuel light came on during a 15-mile stretch with no nearby stations. I was panicking a bit. I’ll update everyone if I get someone to fix it for me.

This happened to my 2015 while it was under warranty, and they replaced it. Now my warranty is gone, and I’ve got a bulb out on the knob for the heat/cool direction, which also needs the dash taken apart. Such a bad design. Let us know if yours fixes itself.

@Zayne
I have the same problem with the 1>4 switch knob. The 1 and 2 are super dim.

@Zayne
They replaced mine under warranty on my 2016, but now it’s happening again.

That’s rough. I’ve lost faith in Honda recently.
