2022 Honda Accord Hybrid sport

I bought a brand-new Honda Accord from a dealer last year. After a few days of driving, I noticed the brakes made a loud noise, especially in the mornings. I took it back to the dealership, but they didn’t help. They said this is a common problem and that the factory doesn’t want to fix it. I really don’t like the car, and I think Honda is hurting its reputation by ignoring this brake issue. I thought about selling it, but I would lose a lot of money if I tried to resell it now. Has anyone else had this problem?

It’s not the car; it’s the kind of brake pads Honda uses in newer models. They’re very noisy, but that’s normal and not a problem. Most brake pads make some noise, but some are louder than others, like the semi-metallic ones Honda uses. When it’s time to replace the pads, just get a good set of ceramic ones, and it should make things a lot quieter.

How worn are the brake pads ?

Brand new. It was zero miles when I bought it and still makes that noise

When the car sits overnight, a little rust can form on the brake rotors. This is normal since they are made of steel, and it happens more in wet and humid places. The first few times you use the brakes each day, the pads will wipe away the rust, and the noise will get quieter. However, hybrids use regenerative braking to recharge the battery, so their brakes don’t clean off the rust as well or as fast. Yes, it can be annoying, but it’s not dangerous and is pretty normal. Your Accord is known for being one of the best and most reliable family cars ever. Just turn up the radio, drive it more, and enjoy your Honda!

Are you talking about the electrical sound from the regenerative brakes?

The new Accords aren’t good. They should have stuck with the K engine.
