Picking up the new car today… It’s a weird mix of being excited and feeling like I’m saying goodbye to an old friend. I’ve only ever had one car, and now I’m moving on to something new. Hoping this one lasts just as long.
@Pablo
I get it. People say it’s just a car, but it’s been there for you through so much… road trips, late nights, all of it. When I had to let go of mine after 11 years, it hit me hard. But my new Civic Advance has made the change a lot easier… glad to be back with Honda.
I know the feeling… lost my ‘06 a while back. But congrats on the hybrid! I hear they’ve got great speed.

Thanks! It really handles better than anything else I’ve driven.
I used to think keeping a car for 20 years was wild… then I hit 7 years with my Civic and can’t see myself replacing it anytime soon.
Had a 2010 EX-L sedan, finally let it go this year. 325,000 miles, and the only thing it ever needed was regular maintenance. Paid $22,000 back in ‘09, now I’m in a 2025 Civic Sport Touring Hybrid.

My ‘08 had 198,900 miles when I took that last photo Hope you love the new one as much as I do!
Looks amazing 🩵
Sorry you had to go through that, but cars are way safer now than they were 15 years ago. That hatch looks great! If you love how Hondas drive, it’s tough to switch to anything else.

Yeah, exactly! And thanks
Did you go with automatic or manual? Congrats.

Do they even make a hybrid with manual?

Not sure, I’ve got the 2024 Hatchback Sport Touring with manual, but mine isn’t a hybrid.

This hybrid only comes with an eCVT automatic, so that’s what I got. It’s my everyday car, so I prefer that. But I have a 1995 Shadow motorcycle for when I want to shift gears myself :3
@Pablo
I’m trying to avoid CVTs as long as I can.

Oh yeah? Why’s that? I actually like them for automatics.

Just personal preference. I don’t love how they wear out compared to normal automatics. Ever since manufacturers switched to CVTs, they haven’t felt the same.
@Palmer
Hey, so there’s a bit of a misunderstanding about the eCVT in these hybrids. I have a 2025 Hatchback Touring, just for reference.
The eCVT in these hybrids works differently—it’s basically an electric motor that decides when to engage or disengage the gas engine. It even simulates regular gears when you push it. No belts, no pulleys, so it doesn’t wear out the same way as traditional CVTs. You should try one out!
